چکیده
The application of distributed software architectures is a common trend in geospatial analysis. On the basis of service oriented architectures, web services are used to provide and process geospatial data. Especially in the European public administration, the implementation of the INSPIRE directive makes the use of standardized web services mandatory. The web services protocol and interface standards of the Open Geospatial Consortium are well suited for this purpose. This paper describes how web services, initially in the form of OGC Web Processing Services, can be used to efficiently compose and publish complex geodata-processing workflows in an automated and centralized manner. Therefore, the RichWPS orchestration environment and software collection is presented which consists of various components that cooperate to realize workflow modelling and orchestration. The environment is optimized for Web Processing Services, and at the same time provides improved usability for users who are no IT experts. In this paper, the concept and functioning of the service orchestration are described. Following this, the practical application is demonstrated by means of a use case. Finally, a conclusion is drawn to sum up the results and outline both the advantages and drawbacks, closing with a brief outlook for further development.

A method for normalizing pathology images to improve feature extraction for quantitative pathology.
PURPOSE With the advent of digital slide scanning technologies and the potential proliferation of large repositories of digital pathology images, many research studies can leverage these data for biomedical discovery and to develop clinical applications. However, quantitative analysis of digital pathology images is impeded by batch effects generated by varied staining protocols and staining con...
متن کاملIn the footsteps of the gods: Janus revisited and the pursuit of timeliness.
Janus, the Roman god of new beginnings and good endings, has been an important symbol and recurring theme since the inception of this journal. In 1980, Drs. Richard P. Wenzel and William A. Schaffner "introduced a new scientific journal that would focus on hospital epidemiology and all aspects of infection control."' In less than a decade, Infection Control evolved to become the official journa...

Recently the single relaxation time Lattice Boltzmann Method (hereinafter LBM) has considerably spread in Computational Hydraulics. Such a diffusion is motivated by the fact that the corresponding numerical algorithm is much simpler than the ones derived from “classical” hydraulic models, such as e.g. the Shallow Water (hereinafter SW) equations. The main drawback of the standard LBMbased model...
متن کاملSexual behavioral correlates with HSV-2 seroprevalence among pregnant women in Nigeria.
INTRODUCTION The burden of HSV-2 infection, the cause of most cases of genital herpes in Nigeria, varies from region to region; and so are the associated factors. This infection is known to be responsible for several negative pregnancy outcomes. There is currently no documented data on sexual behavioral factors associated with the occurrence of HSV-2 infection or seroprevalence among pregnant w...
متن کاملCrack Direction Effects along Copper/sapphire Interfaces
-The Rice-Thomson model is used to predict the directional toughness of a copper/sapphire interface, consisting of a {221 } face of a copper crystal bonded to a basal sapphire surface. Specimens of this type are subsequently tested, in the form of a layered beam (having two opposing cracking directions) subject to four-point bending and confirm the theoretical predictions. A general observation...
